    Dana Kelman, Interior Designer

    An Interior Designer and Marketer, Dana has invested her career in the world of Interior Design. Growing up in a “furniture family,” it was innate and inevitable for her to pursue it as her career.

    Dana graduated from Michigan State University with a B/A in Communication and Business, then moved across the country to find sunshine. Across the country, she also found that the World of Design was truly home. She worked as a Resource Room Director at Robb + Stucky Furniture Store and Design Studio while obtaining her Associate of Arts Degree in Interior Design from SCC. Dana has held a wide range of positions in the design world – sales, design and marketing – spanning both Residential and Commercial Design, each position allowing her to hone a different part of her craft. She brings her passion and enthusiasm to the Transitions Remodeling Team with more than 15 years of experience and a well-rounded, impressive design industry skillset. Dana loves meeting new people and hearing their stories, working together to plan new spaces that are both functional and beautiful. She loves being a part of the transformation that makes dreams come true.


    Mike DeCaussin, Kitchen And Bath Designer

    Mike grew up on the east side of Detroit where his dad was a Firefighter. He has worked in design and home improvement through woodworking and continues to spend his free time his woodshop. He officially started in the Kitchen and Bath industry in 2013. As a designer, Mike’s philosophy is to first make it functional and efficient, then make it beautiful! He tackles his projects with a mindset of problem solving for his clients.


    Aimee Brown CKBD, Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer Lead Designer / Sales Manager

    Aimee is the Lead Designer and Sales Manager at Transitions Remodeling. She has an extensive kitchen and bath background and experience. Aimee is passionate about designing dynamic kitchen and bath spaces that clients can be proud of for life. By incorporating various elements of Universal Design into her projects she ensures the longevity and functionality of her designs.

    She has an Interior Design Degree from Central Michigan University. She spent 15 years in Chicago working at a flagship luxury plumbing and tile showroom in the Merchandise Mart and founded and worked at her own kitchen & bath design firm before joining Transitions.

    Aimee is certified through the National Kitchen and Bath Association as a CKBD (Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer). The CKBD designation requires that she maintains a high level of continuing education and experience in the kitchen and bath industry. She has several design awards and has been a judge for the annual Chicago/Midwest NKBA chapter’s ‘Design Visions’ awards competition.

    Aimee enjoys working closely with homeowners, contractors, and suppliers to manage the installation of her designs for mid-high-end kitchen, bath and whole house remodeling projects.

    Aimee enjoys giving back to this industry she loves. She is an active member of the executive council of the Michigan State NKBA Chapter, serving as VP of communications for its 600+ members.


    Kelly Schlick, Interior Designer

    Kelly is a graduate of The Art Institute, with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design. She spent several years studying design and architecture in both Chicago and Detroit. Kelly has a broad range of design experience. From corporate space planning to construction and remodeling. With a well-trained eye for quality and craftmanship, each project speaks to her client’s own interests and lifestyle. Kelly truly prides herself in customer relationships and satisfaction.


    Olivia Dee, Design Assistant

    Olivia provides assistance to our designers and field personnel by supporting the many projects we have in various stages at Transitions Remodeling. She will often help clients select hardware or tile and may assist designers in delivering materials to our clients or meeting them to coordinate a final granite selection. She is currently a student at Baker community college and will soon have her degree in Interior Design. She is often the first person you speak with when you call our Design Center and she loves helping people and scheduling our workshops.

  • Our Carpenters

    Jason Livernois, Project Manager

    Jason grew up in Farmington Hills and lives there today. He is a skilled carpenter and a certified automotive mechanic. He spends his spare time enjoying motor sports and boating. He has been involved in both residential and commercial construction. Jason owned his own business where he completed a lot of commercial construction work and performed maintenance for several companies on multi-family units in the area. He is known for his tile and finished carpentry skills and is always focused and interactive with his clients to ensure they are pleased with the final outcome of their project. A comment from a client on one of his last project says it all… “Jason, your work on our bathroom far exceeded our expectations. We love our bathroom, it is pure perfection!”


    Lynn Gertsch, Project Manager

    Lynn grew up in Utah and moved to Michigan in 1992. He has worked as a Lead Carpenter and Foreman during most of his 30 years in the construction industry. He has a reputation in the area for his problem-solving ideas and high level carpentry skills. He owned his own home remodeling business for 18 years specializing in room additions and kitchen and bath remodeling. Being a licensed General Contractor and remodeler, he is skilled in all phases of remodeling projects including drawing plans at the concept stage to complete installation and custom finish work.


    David Franklin, Lead Carpenter

    David has spent his life in Michigan and previously owned his own residential remodeling business where he specialized in kitchens, baths, and custom built cabinetry and staircases. He has also worked for several remodeling and building companies in the Howell and Auburn Hills areas leading crews and building custom homes. His knowledge and specialized skills as a carpenter show in his work. He is an active member of Multi-Lakes Conservation Club in Commerce and loves hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, and snowmobiling.


    Dan Owens, Lead Carpenter/Tile Specialist

    Dan started working in construction as an apprentice. He has spent time working both independently and as part of a company. He greatly values working on a team that is dedicated to high quality workmanship, which is why we were happy to welcome him to the Transitions Remodeling team in May. He takes great pride in all aspects of his work and favors finish carpentry and tile. While he’s not on the job he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.


    Chris Jones, Tile Specialist

    Chris grew up in Adrian, MI and started in construction around 1993 refinishing and installing hardwood floors. He started doing bathroom remodels in 1995 and has been doing residential and commercial tile work ever since. What he likes most about the remodeling process is the feeling of accomplishment and self-worth that the transformation from old to new brings. Outside of work he likes to spend time with his wife and family, travel, and play video games.


    Matt Jaworski, Field Assistant

    Matt started with new construction in 1990 and has done mostly remodeling since then. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University and we have been happy to have him with the Transitions Remodeling team for two and a half years; he brings a lot of skill and dedication to the table. His favorite part of the process is seeing the project come together at the end with beautiful results.


    Martin Peterson, Field Assistant

    Martin grew up in Waterford and started working in construction right out of high school. Now at 25, he has gained a lot of experience in many areas of construction and remodeling. Formerly, he did a lot of exteriors including decks, but loves working on kitchens and bathrooms. He says, “The best part of the process is finishing up and seeing that the customer is happy with what we’ve done and knowing I did the best job possible”.


    Alan Bamford, Field Support

    Originally Alan comes from marketing background which lends him a keen sense of big picture teamwork and customer satisfaction. Since then he has worked as a sales consultant for a counter top department and cabinet refacing services, during which he organized and lead training programs for their field crews.

    His time as an independent contractor has given him the valuable experience of seeing many projects through from start to finish. His favorite parts of the process are the creative aspect of all the possibilities for a single space and being able to hand the keys back to a smiling customer.

    Being a native Detroiter, he’s naturally a Red Wing fan and was a proud hockey dad to his now college-age son.


    Adam Hardow, Carpenter


    John Bremer, Carpenter

    John has been doing all sorts of craftsmanship carpentry for over 15+ years. His specialties include painter by trade, finished work, attention to detail, and very artistic. He graduated from University of Michigan with a BA in Music. Shortly after graduating he pursued his other love, carpentry, John loves outdoor sports and activist. He is the proud owner of a yellow lab. He enjoys working with customers and working with his hands. Transitions Remodeling is so happy to have John on our team.


    Ryan White, Assistant Carpenter

    Ryan is a great addition to our Transitions Remodeling Team. He loves creating kitchens, baths, you name it. He loves creating something from nothing and making it beautiful and amazing. He loves taking pride in the finished results. In his spare time Ryan is a singer and song writer. He simply adores his wife and his two children and loves spending time with them

    Sandra Williams, Showroom Manager

    Sandra is the first face you see when you visit the Transitions Remodeling Universal Design Center. She is also the friendly voice on the end of the phone who confirms appointments and helps people schedule important meetings for their projects.

    She grew up in Metro Detroit and spent many years working for a restoration company as Quality Control Supervisor for every job that was processed. She helped restore documents after natural disasters (including Hurricane Sandy), and building fires. She enjoys boating and other water activities and mostly loves her new, beautiful Granddaughter.


    Corrine Bilkie, Bookkeeper

    Corrine grew up in Metro Detroit. She started with the Transitions Remodeling team in June 2014, after spending time away from working with a newborn and 3 other children. Prior to that she worked in finance in the automotive industry for 11 years. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, likes to read and loves warm weather and traveling.

    Barb Baker, President and CEO, CAPS (Certified Aging in Place Specialist)

    Barb Baker is President and CEO of Transitions Remodeling where she oversees the strategic direction of this dynamic company. Founded in 2011 with a focus on helping meet the needs of an aging population committed to remaining “safe and independent” in their homes, the business has grown into a remodeling company known for their design and quality workmanship.

    Barb is a dedicated ambassador for the remodeling and building industry serving as the President of Professional Women in Building for the SE Michigan Home Builders Association for 2014-2016. She is also an active member of the Executive Board of the National Association of Women in Construction and received their Distinguished New Constructor award in 2015.

    On a personal level, Barb gained her compassionate perspective from the real-life experience of providing in-home care and a safe environment for her husband and mother who both were dependent on wheel chairs. This drove her to obtain a Certified Aging in Place Specialist designation from HBA which recognizes her qualifications to design and build barrier free environments.
