What to Expect When Working with Transitions Remodeling, The Premium Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling Company in Troy, MI

There is an old cliché, which we find extraordinarily appropriate when it comes to remodeling; “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” That is why we take such extraordinary steps and as much time as is needed to come up with a plan that works for you—and your budget.

Our comprehensive approach assures you that we bring a high level of professionalism to every home-remodeling project. We’ve found this best serves our clients’ needs.

  • It All Starts With Our “Project Discovery”

During our initial meeting we explore what you want to accomplish with your kitchen remodel or bathroom remodel and dig deep into understanding how you and your family will use your space. At this meeting you will also get a clear understanding on how we can help you meet the budget you have planned for your home-remodeling project.

  • Next, We Prepare A Project Design Proposal That Is Uniquely Yours

Because we know you need to visualize what the space will look like. We start with your existing floor plan and get accurate measurements and note your distinct structural elements. We present you with an initial project rendering where you see what the finished design will look like. This includes product recommendations and an initial budget. At this point, if we decide to move forward, we’ll proceed with one of the following options:

    • A Down Payment or Approved Financing

    • A Design Retainer so that we can move forward with a more detailed design for your project. (The amount is credited towards your project cost)

  • We’ll Meet In Our Design Showroom In Farmington Hills As We Partner On Your Final Design

We find people enjoy this step as they see a variety of finishes and styles in one place. We work with you to mix and match cabinets, counter types, tiles and lighting options to get a look you love. Once your design and plans are finalized and all material selections complete and approved, a thorough scope of work is developed, a guaranteed budget and work schedule is prepared, and we’re ready to get to work!

  • The Plan Is Finalized So The Production Phase Begins

We assign a Lead Carpenter to every home-remodeling project. Our Lead Carpenters have years of remodeling and building experience (the average is 17 years). We schedule a “Pre-Construction Meeting” at the start with your designer, Lead Carpenter and field Project Manager so you can review logistics and confirm the details of your project. This is also a great opportunity for us to meet your pets and discuss how we will keep them safe during construction.

Remodeling your home is an exciting experience! We know how important every decision you make is, and how important it is that you can follow every aspect of the process. Communication is important. That’s why we offer secure, online access to your very own webpage with all the details and selections for your home-remodeling project! You will be able to track photos of the construction progress, view the build schedule, view and approve change orders and selections, as well as access important documents. From online warranty claims, to the online messaging system, you can easily communicate with our team 24/7, no matter if you are at home, work, or even on vacation!

  • Construction Phase

Your Lead Carpenter and Field Project Manager are responsible for all elements of your project including supervising all trades people and scheduling required inspections. They will prepare and protect the surfaces in your home and control dust during the project. See our Property Protection Program to better understand all we do to respect your home while we are there. When we begin the demolition (where we remove all of your existing products) and installation you will get updates every day on our progress.

  • Completion and Warranty

Once everything is completed to your satisfaction, we conduct a final walk through and you can enjoy your new space with the confidence you are protected by an industry-leading, five year warranty effective the day we complete the work.
